When you walk with the Fay…

When you walk with the Fay…

You will find the Fay in the most unusual of places. Not surprising really. In this instance we were out amongst the wilds of Wales when we drove by a sacred mound. You can just tell. It had magic written all over it. Of course the name was a bit of a give away too… Tomen Y Faerdre As soon as I began to climb the mound I knew that it was a magical place. Indeed, I got an interesting sense of self. A while ago, when communing with some fay folk, I got told that I had a Faery Taint. What that is, I have no idea. However it seems that it makes me more noticeable to the Fay and apparently, them more noticeable to me. Anyway, my point of mentioning it is that, on this occasion, I was feeling that taint, which is interesting because I don’t think that I have...

A remarkable ingredient for the wand

Let me begin my tale by saying that the only thing I know about Pisa, Italy is that it has a leaning tower. That’s the extent of my knowledge. I haven’t got or read any guide books and I don’t even have a map. As my previous post said, I had arrived in Pisa around 3pm and after an initial wonky start I was ordering a taxi from my hotel at around 5:30 pm. The day was still young after all. The taxi walla was instructed to take me to the center of Pisa (as he determined it) and some few minutes later I was stood in piazza amongst stalls and thronging tourista. A good place to start exploring I thought. My only mission for this late in the day was to taste as many different flavours of gelato as possible. This quest started with Melon and Kiwi...

The wand, the oil and a gift – Spring 2

The wand, the oil and a gift – Spring 2

Was it worth the long drive to reach the turf maze? Absolutely. If you haven’t checked out the insights that were gained there then you should. Nuff said! We were off. It has to be said and indeed we said it many times on the Spring Equinox day. There just isn’t anything of note on the Eastern side of our Isle. There just isn’t. Maybe the druid or other sacred folk nipped over for a few days and gave the place up as a bad job or that the imminent invasions from Vikings and such folk scared them off. It is hard to say. One thing we did note is that there didn’t even seem to be any energetic features in the landscape. Having noted that, we were at a loss. Churchyards and Wells were are only option. So we tried a few. Nothing was happening....

Amber – it’s not what you think – Egypt 7

Amber – it’s not what you think – Egypt 7

Unbelievable. I agree! I came to Egypt on a quest for Amber and my thinking was that it would be a piece of Amber resin. Maybe in some jewelry or in some crystal shop and what does it end up being. Amber perfume oil. I didn’t even know such a thing existed. And how did this knowledge come to me? Via a trip out into the desert and a meeting with some Bedouin. Truly, if anything is a sign of amazing magic, this is it. I had been anointed with the oil but that (according to the rods) would not suffice. I had to acquire some of this oil. Thus it was my final afternoon in Cairo and I decided to hunt in the souks for this oil. I asked the taxi driver to take me to the biggest markets and I wandered the streets, trying to find an aimless (and yet purposeful)...

Amber in Cairo – Egypt 6

Amber in Cairo – Egypt 6

Readers will know, I have been on some amazing quests over the years. They will also know that a few quests have fallen by the wayside too. One of these looked to be the quest to create a Wand. I know, Harry Potter and all that. Alas, the Universe does seem to be insisting that I pull this one-off. The primary reason for me being in Egypt was to collect a piece of Amber. Let me tell you now, that was the only information I had. “Your wand will need some Amber from Egypt” Did the Goddess, who told me this know how big a place Egypt is? Possibly not, what is size to such beings? Here I was then on my 4th day in Egypt and my second in Cairo. The only tour I had booked as part of my journey was happening this day…the pyramids and sphinx half-day...

Fire Element in Cairo – Egypt 2

Fire Element in Cairo – Egypt 2

An Element Quest is what I am on. Or at least one of the quests. Earlier this year, I had gained the Element of Earth in Brittany, France. Then in Ireland I gained the Element of Water. At that place I also learned that the Element of Fire was to be gained in Egypt. Which is half of the reason why I was here. I had arrived in Cairo about two hours ago. Spending a few minutes in my hotel had left me irksome to be out and about. A map told me that the Giza plateau was a mere 2 miles from my hotel. So I took to Shanks Pony and wandered through the hot afternoon sun towards the pyramids. In the winter the pyramid area closes at 4pm. I had arrived at the gate at 3:15 and didn’t even think to pay the fee for just 45 minutes of access. After all I had 3 full days...
