Summary 2013 – Lessons Learned Pt2

In the second half of my second summary post I’m completing the lessons learned for the remainder of the year – that’s August to December. In this post I talk about the stag energies, energetic balance, death energy and some of the natural magickal techniques that I have been shown this year. August Stag and the Staff Learned that a staff can become associated with a kind of ‘patron’ energy form My new yew stag-headed staff becomes associated with the Gwyn Ap Nudd/Herne/Cernunnos energy. Lammas Part 2 Secret Gardens

The thing about a sacred life is that many of the experiences are emotionally touching. Often however they give rise to intellectual challenges too. The experience below is one that did both. It began with Gwas’s map. We had arrived at some beach (can’t tell you were, it’s a secret). I followed Gwas along the shore and then up above to the (not very high) cliffs. At one point he stopped to consider something on his phone. It was at this point that I was informed that we were following some directions he had been given. So it was that we followed a trail along paths, across bridges and up hills until we arrived at our destination. Signs are important, whether they are of the esoteric or the mundane kind. So we took due notice of the one that was...

Lammas 2013 – Lligwy Lore and Song

As a form of postscript to the Lunasa day that we spent on Anglesey we had moved further around the island from where I had met with Gywn Ap Nudd. Now we were on the eastern side of the island near to the town of Moelfre. In a way I had achieved everything that I had set out to do this day, but Anglesey is constantly surprising. One new surprise was in store, and a reminder of the power of sound was to follow. These Island’s Traditions We had been to the area around Lligwy before. Lligwy Chamber was our intended destination, but for some reason we had ended up coming at the site from the opposite direction than usual. Call it luck, or some other coincidence. I pulled over into the parking area designated for the Din Lligwy ancient village. I had seen the...

Lammas 2013 – The Faery Feast

In the culmination of the Lammas work I describe a long-awaited meeting between the Lord of the Underworld – Gwyn Ap Nudd – and little old me. Now, I have some caveats about this post which I will point out straight away. The location was given to me by a devotee of this site along with a request not to divulge the location of the site. I will honour that promise entirely – so you will need to use your imagination for this one because there will be no photos or definitive descriptions of the place – just general references. I began that morning by collecting some fresh wild flowers. I know people disagree with the concept – I know. However, I don’t go around doing it for no reason, or simply to decorate my house. These flowers...

The Arthurian Earth Energies

In early June Kal and I visited The Druid’s Circle at Penmaenmawr near Conwy. We arrived there in time for sunset, and the western skies filled out with ever-deepening shades of red until the whole sky turned inky-blue as the sun retreated beneath the sea. Before the light around us completely faded I had some work to do. I was here to try to find out more about my spirit guide who was relatively new to me. My previous guide Theodora had been unfathomable, but honestly I had stopped trying to know more at the first hurdle, not wanting to upset her. Now I had Ash, and he seemed more amenable, so I felt it was incumbent upon me to make the effort to forge a strong relationship that could be mutually beneficial. With that in mind I made my way towards the...
