Wood of the Fay Beltane 2014 – 17

In previous posts I have mentioned that I have a Faery Taint. Don’t ask what it is, I don’t know. But on our trip to Brittany I have bumped into more Fay than in all my years of experience put together.  Why this is, I have yet to discover. Certainly this part of the world seems over populated with Faery Kin. Gwas and I was in a wood I have called Wood of the Fay because of our continued encounters with the Sidhe here. I was lost. Not an unusual occurence for me, but still somewhat unnerving since I was in a foreign land. Of course I could use the rods to find my way out and a quick check to see if they could get me out was answered with a Yes. Gandalf’s warning always rings in my ears in such situations…”Don’t leave the...

The finer points of becoming a Knight

As you will read in Gwas’s posts he is on a mini quest to seek out energies pertaining to Taliesin. Who am I to say no to tagging along on such a quest? So when the opportunity arose, of course I said yes! We drove to the outskirts of Conway, skirting the beautiful castle there and then up into the wild-lands. And when I say wild I mean wild. But we’re kind of used to that and so it was with out much-ado that, after a half-mile muddy trek, we arrived at our destination. I had to (according to the rods) prepare a little further away from the site whilst Gwas was invited in immediately. After a suitable preparation time I was ready to do some work here. Of course I had asked the prerequisite questions… Is there anything I can do for this sacred...

Winter Solstice 2013 Valle Crucis and the Power of Promise

After the über download at Dinas Bran and an enjoyable lunch in Llangollen we were ready for our final stop of the Solstice. Vali Crucis. From memory, we have visited this place several times in the early spring. Flowers just budding comes to mind. So it was a bit off timing to be coming here at this time of the year, however for me the main attraction was that it has an easy access and was a beautiful place to visit. When I was sitting in the seat of the energetic double upon Dinas Bran, the Genius Loci had revealed that I would gain the Power of Promise at Vali Crucis. What that was, I had no idea. So I was looking forward to learning the meaning of that. Maybe it was the time of the year, but as with Dinas Bran, I was taken (by the rods) into the sacred site...

Medicine Wheel and Loyalty

This is definitely going to be one of many. However I would like to share my first encounter with the medicine wheel. If one goes up the slope of a certain ranch just on the outskirts of San Francisco you can find a gateway into the old world. This morning I was led along the path by my dear friend Tam. I thought it might have been a long climb but it wasn’t and only some twenty minutes later we were at the entrance. Of course I had my dowsing rods with me and (as a demonstration to Tam and)  for my own curiosity I dowsed whether a gateway actually existed by the tree. It did, there was one there. I don’t think that Gwas and I have ever dowsed the breadth of a gateway so I thought I would have ago. I was surprised that it was quite wide, about 5/6...

Iona 7 Knights Journey

What the? I had just been pulled across a mile or two of marsh and hills to the village-ette on Iona and had no clue as to why. Talk about following your intuition, this was more like running after it. Out of breath and heart a pumping (er…that’s not good) I turned a corner, Gwas one step behind and saw an elderly gentleman and lady pulling along suit cases, having just arrived on the ferry. I immediately held my hand out to them, ‘allow me to help’ They refused at first but I insisted and finally managed to get their bags off them. I have to laugh as I got the heaviest and Gwas (who is way fitter than I am) got the lighter one. Brilliant! Where are you going I asked, the furthest hotel they answered. Inwardly I both laughed and groaned....
